I went to see Trevor Shimizu’s new show at 47 Canal.
４７カナルでやってる、トレバー清水の新しい展覧会を観に行った。
Trevor’s new and very big paintings made me surprised. But, the way the paintings have “air” can go through around. The viewers are never overwhelmed by the paintings.
トレバーの新しい巨大な油絵に驚かされたけど、絵の中に風が吹いてるような空間があるので、圧倒される感じじゃない。
I can’t afford these paintings both size and price matter in my place to live. However, I saw a man who deeply considers buying or not buy one of his paintings. I thought he should buy one or two now because Trevor is one of the emerging artists.
サイズ的にも金額的にも私に買えるものじゃないけど、買おうかどうか、マジ悩みながら観てる感じのおっさんがいた。私は今が買いだよと、思った。一点だけじゃなくて、２点くらい彼は買うべき。だって、トレバーは最近頭角を現してきたアーテイストなんだから。
Last year, one of Trevor’s paintings were in a group show. It’s medium size painting of his wife and baby. Looking at the painting made me warm. The painting was bought by one of the well-known artists. Trevor is an artist loved by artists.
去年、あるグループ展で観た、トレバーの作品。中くらいのサイズで、彼の奥さんと赤ちゃんの絵。微笑ましくなる。その絵は、ある有名な絵描きさんに買われて行った。トレバーはアーテイストに愛されるアーテイストです。
