This is my work. I made it 2014.

someone remember this work and contacted me and I sold it to the person, today.

An artist is a really mysterious business.

The work stayed in someone’s heart for a long time.

The title of the work is In Love/Not in Love (You can’t faucet) = You can’t force it,

This is a word play.

(You can’t faucet) = You can’t force it

And the glass is half-filled with water. It is an interpretation of whether a person looks at this glass and if the person felt a glass half empty or a glass half full. It depends on the person look at this glass.

Recently, I haven’t made any works using photographs.

Maybe it’s because I don’t have enough time to indulge in daydream.

Or lack of concentration.

It’s same as the work, In Love/Not in Love….

Is concentration making a work or fantasy making a work?

However, a glass half empty or a glass half full might be a cliché for nowadays.

Such a beautiful and poignant photograph. No wonder it stayed in the mind of someone who saw it all those years ago.

It reminds me of a quote by Matshona Dhliwayo… “Whether your cup is half-full or half-empty, remind yourself there are others without one.”

    Thank you, Pamela!

I didn’t know at all Matshona Dhliwayo. I looked at his name. I am interested in reading his books.

His word, “remind yourself there are others without one,” made me cry.
