This is my work. I made it 2014. これは私の作品です。2014年に作りました。

someone remember this work and contacted me and I sold it to the person, today.

誰かがこの作品を覚えていて、私に連絡して来たので、今日、私はこれをその人に売りました。

An artist is a really mysterious business. 芸術家って、本当に不思議な商売です。

The work stayed in someone’s heart for a long time. 作品が誰かの心に長く留まっていました。

The title of the work is In Love/Not in Love (You can’t faucet) = You can’t force it,

作品の題名は、愛してる、愛してない、押し付けることは出来ないわ。って感じかな？

This is a word play. これは言葉遊びです。

(You can’t faucet) = You can’t force it

蛇口のfaucet と、強制するのforce it,

And the glass is half-filled with water. It is an interpretation of whether a person looks at this glass and if the person felt a glass half empty or a glass half full. It depends on the person look at this glass.

そしてグラスには半分水が入ってます。それは、受け取る人によってコップに半分だけか、半分も入ってるか、との解釈です。

Recently, I haven’t made any works using photographs. 最近は写真を使っての作品は作ってませんでした。

Maybe it’s because I don’t have enough time to indulge in daydream.

空想にふける時間が足りないからかもしれません。

Or lack of concentration.

もしくは集中力が足りないのかも。

It’s same as the work, In Love/Not in Love….

この作品と、同じかも、愛してるのか、愛してないのか、

Is concentration making a work or fantasy making a work?

集中が作品を作るのか、空想が作品を作るのか？

However, a glass half empty or a glass half full might be a cliché for nowadays.

しかし、グラスがの半分が空であるか、半分もであるかは、今日では陳腐な感傷なのかもしれません。
