I saw this Golgo 13 poster. I liked to read Golgo 13 when I was young, but I never read it from the beginning. And the story still continues.

I forgot Golgo’s occupation. I thought he was a hitman, But maybe he was a security guard. I don’t think he was a travel agency. But in this poster, he concerns about Overseas Safety Measures Manual for travelers. He may work for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

ダン蔵’s birthday is coming soon.

After pondering, I bought these two books.

And, it was a little early but I gave them to him already.

He was very happy about the both books. This made me very happy!

ダン蔵 and I had a lunch at one of his favorite restaurant. The person next to me was reading a book of Paul Celan.

Men and women in the world are up to each person, but he was also a sinful man. When I thought about it, I had mixed feelings.

It’s me or someone other than me. This is a quote from a recent Japanese celebrity, Roland. However…

    ダン蔵 is……..

He is a kind of person that “my way or noway.

I thought Mr. Roland had a wider allowance than ダン蔵.

I read Roland’s book with great interest.

As I climb the mountain path, I ponder-

If you work by reason, you grow rough-edged; if you choose to dip your oar into sentiment’s it will sweep you away. Demanding your own way only serves to constrain you. However you look at it, the human world is not an easy place to live.

And when its difficulties intensify, you find yourself longing to leave that world and dwell in some easier one – and then, when you understand at least that difficulties will dog you wherever you may live, this is when poetry and art are born.

The creators of our human world are neither gods nor demons but simply people, those ordinary folk who happen to live right there next door. You may feel the human realm is a difficult place, but there is surely no better world to live in. You will find another only by going to nonhuman; and the nonhuman realm would surely be a far more difficult place to inhabit than the human.

    —————————————————–

The above is the beginning of Natsume Soseki‘s nobel Kusamakura.

This lines comes to my mind when I want to escape or when I want to quit humans.

I am here at The Two Temples. A story of Melville. I read 3 pages for now.

    私は今、The Two Temples のここです。

ダン蔵 goes to bed very early.

ダン蔵 asked me how’s Melville? Before he went to bed tonight.

And in a row, he said he hopes I could go about 3 pages more tonight.

    It’s kind of pressure….

Tonight, I want to watch the first debate between Biden and Trump….

When I looked at Kuroneko-Pooh‘s blog, it was written about absurdity.

That reminded me that I was making a work called “Wood of Absurd” in 2018.

The tree shouts “Why?” Then, The echo returns “Why not!”

There is no answer what you expected.

Life is the question after the endless question.

I am reading a text of Midori Yamamura, Re-Viewing Kusama, 1950-1975: Biography of Things in a book, Yayoi Kusama Mirrored Years.

It is mentioned a conceptual artist Yutaka Matuzawa. I first time realized that Kusama and Matsuzawa come from Nagano, Japan.

Actually, I didn’t know he was an artist. I thought he was a poet. Because I have his poetry book “Star or a Strip Show”. The title is catchy, therefore I bought the book.

Reiko Tomii curated a show “Radicalism in the Wilderness” at Japan Society in NYC. The exhibition was showing Yutaka Matsuzawa. Then I realized that he was an artist.

Midori Yamamura’s text makes my mind to travel various places.

Her delicate examination of history is reminiscent of artists other than Kusama. Kusama is experiencing World War Second. It is the youth of Tsuguharu Fujita and my teacher, Hirosada Kotani.

When I was an art student, my color science class’s textbook was Josef Albers‘s theory. I deeply admired his using color. He was my god of the color.

I like Robert Mangold‘s work. One day ダン蔵 told me that Mangold was a student of Albers. I was surprised by it, but soon after this, I understood that using the colors of Mangold is influenced by Albers.

Denied it. He said Mangold is not influenced by Albers.

When I was in my 22, I attended a week-long lecture/workshop at ダン蔵, so I am a student of ダン蔵. His lecture was amazing. And I got the blow. It was like an earthquake,e and a tsunami came to me same time. However, I think my art itself never influenced by him.
