I was overwhelmed by the happening of yesterday.
昨日の出来事に圧倒されました。
I am tired of watching the news.
そのニュースのせいでうんざり。
However, I can’t stop watching them.
でも、見ずにはいられない。
Under Trump’s government, there is no justice in this country.
トランプ政権下で正義は無い。
There is an only shame.
恥だけ。
So then, I remembered this song. Motoharu Sano “Shame”.

Happy New Year!
あけましておめでとうございます。
Today’s dinner was Tempura. ダン蔵’d favorite.
今日の夕食は天ぷらでした。ダン蔵の大好物。
I went to a Japanese supermarket for the grocery shopping.
私は食料品の買い物のために日本のスーパーマーケットに行きました。
I love the market.
大好きな店です。
The store has a lottery on New Year’s Day every year. Both last year and this year, I was completely defeated, and nothing I could get. But the shop manager said he wants to give me something! He gave me 2 kg of rice and Chinese pickles. Wow! He is a very kind person!
その店は毎年、お正月に福引があります。去年も今年も完敗で何も当たりませんでした。
なのに、お店のマネージャーが、何かあげたい！と、言ってくださり、お米と中華搾菜をくれました。まじ？すんごい親切！
By the way, when I took out Indian yesterday, the owner served me a glass of wine while I was waiting. He said happy new year good girl!
そういえば、昨日、インデアンフードをテイクアウトした時も、待ってる時に、オーナーがハッピーニューイヤーグッドガール！と、言って、グラスワインをご馳走してくれました。
Now that everyone is having a hard time, why can we be so kind? I thank my luck that I am being surrounded by good people.
今は、みんな大変な時なのに、どうしてそんなに親切にしてくれるの？私は良い人たちに囲まれている、幸運に感謝します。
I hope the pandemic lessens as soon as possible.
コロナが早くなくなることを希望します。

Very last day of 2020. Dinner tonight was take out from an Indian restaurant.
2020年最後の日、夕食はインデアンレストランからのテイクアウトです。
I couldn’t finish that I must do or I should have done.
やらなきゃいけないことや、しておくべき事、出来てません。
However, time never wait for me.
でも、時間は私を待ってくれないの〜。
I bought a book by Chef Mikuni at Amazon Japan as a Christmas present for myself. It arrived today.
自分へのクリスマスプレゼントに三國シェフの本をアマゾンジャパンで買いました。今日届きました。
ダン蔵 as well, people who live with conviction and achieved it are beautiful. I think.
ダン蔵もそうだけど、信念を持って生きていて、達成してる人って、美しいなあ。って、思います。

My NY state ID expired in 2014. But no one noticed it. And the department that I can renew it that always very crowded. It needs to wait for 3-4 hours usually. So, I was scared to go.
NY state IDが2014年で切れてたんだけど、誰にも気づかれないし、切り替えてくれるデパートメントは、いつもすんごい混んでて、３〜４時間待ちもざらだし、恐ろしくて行けなかった。
I finally received the letter from NY state today. It said Please update your ID.
私は遂にNY州からID切れてますよー、更新してください〜。と言う手紙を受け取った。
I thought since it’s the end of the year, maybe only a few people may go to the government office. So, I visited there. And yay! It was no time to wait. I was very lucky!
年末のこの時期に、そーゆーところに行く人って少ないんじゃないかと思って、行ってみたら、イエイ！待ち時間０でした。ラッキー！
On the way back, I walked toward to east on 31st Street and found the church of St. Francesco in Assisi.
帰り道、３１丁目を東に向かって歩いてたら、アッシジの聖フランチェスコ教会がありました。

Apparently, the mailbox has a key, but I haven’t received the key yet. I contacted management, but I didn’t get a reply. The post office left the parcels but not the envelopes. I think the post office hasn’t received the key yet like me.
どうやら、郵便箱に鍵がついたようですが、その鍵はまだもらっていません。マネージメントに連絡しましたが、お返事はありません。郵便局は小包は置いていってくれますが封書は置いていってくれません。郵便局もまだ、私と同様、鍵を受け取ってないのだと思います。
Seriously? Come on.
まじかよ、おい。
